Brigham Young taught that Adam was God.
"Now hear it, O inhabitants of the earth, Jew and Gentile, Saint and sinner! When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world. He is Michael, the Archangel, the Ancient of Days! about whom holy men have written and spoken -- He is our Father, and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do. Every man upon the earth, professing Christians or non professing, must hear it, and will know it sooner or later." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 1, page 50).
Hey, Mitt, did you know that Brigham Young taught this? And did you know that he also said there has never been a sermon preached by him that the saints could not call scripture?
Can you honestly tell me that Brigham Young was the voice of the Lord, prophet, seer, and rightful authority of the 'restored church'?I have a relative who claims that he has the entire set of the Journal of Discourses, has read them all, loves each and every one of the sermons and would bet his life that these men are prophets. So, tomorrow, just for him (because I know he has been on this site snooping around again), I will be posting some excerpts of OTHER "prophets" of the church, complete with the links back to the beloved Journal of Discourses that he claims superior knowledge about, and maybe he can do some real reading for a change. Topics including: the inferior black race, the proper use of women, the true nature of Jesus' conception, how many men live on the moon and the sun as well, and other choice tidbits.
